Porch Love
It is that time of year, when I all I can think about is being outside. Yesterday was 85 degrees AND the motivator to tackle my FAVORITE outdoor room, the SCREENED PORCH. Using a $500 budget, I had to be creative to achieve the look I wanted…COZY, INVITING, COMFORTABLE, INDOOR/OUTDOOR. I shopped at antique stores, Pier One, my attic, and Target to pull together the room that serves as SUMMER DINING ROOM, READING NOOK, COFFEE BREAK & COCKTAIL HOUR RETREAT, PHONE & FRIEND CHAT CORNER. Need I say more? We spend some part of every day in this space. Here is how I used my budget.
*I already had all the furniture. The floor is painted blue, wood furniture painted High Gloss BLACK).
And here is the result…Join me for a quick cup of coffee, with no make-up & pajamas won’t you?

Also, don’t forget…it is “A Beautiful Life” Friday over at The Inspired Room . Take a few minutes to check out all of the post links you will find there. It is a great weekend treat!

Also, thanks for posting a link to my site over at The Inspired Room — I’m flattered!

MY TP FRIENDS! Thank you for stopping by to take a peek. Boy, would I love it if you could REALLY stop by and have a cup of Joe’ with me. I cannot wait until the TP RETREAT when we can all meet in person! ARTIST, the nail heads…I used DARK nails with a head on them. They blend into the black on the curtain…can’t see them it all!

Shawn,
Great job this porch is so inviting. Love the rug, pillows and new bar! I have a brick deck off the back of my house next to the family room. It has no steps(?!) leading down to the garden and would make the cutest screened porch….. Maybe next year… Going to watch your other videos now…

Hi Shawn,
I read what Sandi said about your videos and I had to check them out……The porch is fantastic! I can’t believe all you did in ONE day. You are motivating me!!…. Isn’t is wonderful when it’s all done and you can sit back in the coming months and just enjoy?……My sister has a screened in porch too and they LIVE out there all season long just like your family. The other videos are so cute too. You ARE such a great MOM! First you jump in the pool and then……How thoughtful that you made that little video birthday/thank you card to your daughter. OMG! She is tooooooo cute and soooooo sweet. You must want to take a bite out of her everyday! I love how she looks after her sister:) The video at the creek was really adorable too! You do such a great job with your blog. I am VERY impressed!!! Keep up the good work. Your love shines through! - Mary Ann

I love this makeover. I haven’t had a sunroom in the last two homes and I really miss it. One just cannot be anything but serene in a sunroom.

I have to tell you, I’m soooo jealous of your porch! We had one in our last house and, like you, I spent every chance I had on it during warmer months. I miss it so much and hope to build another one here someday.
I felt like I was sitting on the porch with you for a moment. Ahhh. Thanks for inviting us in!
