DISPLAY(s) of Affection-Day 1

I do DECLARE that today is the official start of Valentines Day Week. In so declaring, I am going to spend the week sharing themes of how we “DISPLAY” “Love and Affection” at Buttercup Farm.

I have become the keeper of many of my grandparents photos. I vowed when I received these beautiful treasures, that I would figure out a way to share these images in a way to honor their legacy and stories. Here are a few of my favorites:
I love seeing my 85 year old Grandmama (on the far left) having fun in her youth.

So very Chic!

Ready for the Dance.

I found this beautiful tin box at a consignment shop for $3 dollars. I loved the amazing detail on the lid and on the box itself. When I brought it home I knew EXACTLY what I could do with it.

I keep the box filled with pictures, old and new, on the table in the Foyer. Perfectly placed next to a chair, the box invites guests and family members to sit down and sort through.

I don’t mind if the photos are touched, stacked, or left on the table. It makes the experience of being in my home more personal. I also try to keep pictures of VIP’s (my family members) in the box. If they happen to “PEER” in while visiting, they get to see themselves in our lives.

Oh, those are SO fun and inspiring! I have a whole book of old photos from my grandmother. I really enjoy looking through it and enjoying how different life appears, yet how very much the same people are, too! Look at those girls, having fun! Love your photos!
