Little smatterings of Christmas wonderment spread throughout the farmhouse remind our family to stop our busy lives and focus on the reason for the season. Visit each day leading up to Christmas and I will share a little Buttercup Farm “Christmas Style”.

Christmas Shed
November 29, 2009

One of our favorite Buttercup Farm traditions is to decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving. The week leading up to Turkey day is filled with activities to get us all in the Holiday spirit. I do love sitting down at the farm table for breakfast looking out the window at the Christmas Shed.
Porch Love
April 26, 2009
It is that time of year, when I all I can think about is being outside. Yesterday was 85 degrees AND the motivator to tackle my FAVORITE outdoor room, the SCREENED PORCH. Using a $500 budget, I had to be creative to achieve the look I wanted…COZY, INVITING, COMFORTABLE, INDOOR/OUTDOOR. I shopped at antique stores, Pier One, my attic, and Target to pull together the room that serves as SUMMER DINING ROOM, READING NOOK, COFFEE BREAK & COCKTAIL HOUR RETREAT, PHONE & FRIEND CHAT CORNER. Need I say more? We spend some part of every day in this space. Here is how I used my budget.
*I already had all the furniture. The floor is painted blue, wood furniture painted High Gloss BLACK).
And here is the result…Join me for a quick cup of coffee, with no make-up & pajamas won’t you?

Foyer In Progress
March 26, 2009
A month ago I posted a question about redecorating the foyer at Buttercup Farm. The response was WONDERFUL. So many great ideas for me to consider. This week I decided to JUMP into the project. Here is a little overview of what has been happening. The best part…SO FAR this project has cost NOTHING. I went searching around my home to find all of the goodies. SLAINTE!
(Note: In my video I mention Sarah’s idea and her blog name “incorrectly”…the correct name is Memories On Clover Lane.)

Foyer Embellishment
March 4, 2009

Do you have a room in your home that you have struggled with? How about for 12 years? That room in my home is my FOYER. This poor space has been painted probably 6 times in 12 years…I recently added the chair rail (which was extremely tricky because this house is CADDY WOMPUS!)
I am currently happier with the space, than I have been, but feel like it still needs “MORE”. Here are a few pictures with some detail about the challenges.

The framed photos are all my images. I have a ton of additional B/W images/frames I could add.
What do you think this space needs…more wall decorations, more floor decorations, lighting suggestions..color?
