PEARS
March 1, 2009
Artist: MaMa Buttercup
Inspiration: Pears have always melted me. Not the apple, but the pear. I love their odd shapes, the way they lie, and the hidden colors I can find in each beautiful piece of fruit.

Also, don’t forget…it is “A Beautiful Life” Friday over at The Inspired Room . Take a few minutes to check out all of the post links you will find there. It is a great weekend treat!
Vintage Spring
February 25, 2009

Emily Dickinson writes…..
A Light exists in Spring
Not present on the Year
At any other period —
When March is scarcely here
A Color stands abroad
On Solitary Fields
That Science cannot overtake
But Human Nature feels.
I cannot get spring off of my mind…perfectly formed buds, springing beautiful blooms, tulip greens peaking from the ground…these are Buttercup’s thoughts as February ends.

Flowers as Art
February 19, 2009

Placing fresh flowers around the Farm House every week brings me pure joy! I placed theses Calla Lilies on my desk right behind my computer yesterday. I didn’t realize until I was writing this morning how amazing they looked against the backdrop of my favorite painting.
It’s been an wonderful week at Buttercup Farm:
- Making Music Memories Listen to Mama Buttercup and Tulip’s first flute DUET
- Starting Buzzard Barn Renovation Watch the action begin!

Nature Art
February 13, 2009

Artist: Mutha Nature (Herself)
Material: Live Oak Driftwood
Some of the most beautiful pieces of art I have in my home, come right from Mother Nature. I carried this piece of wood 3 miles from Boneyard Beach, Bulls Island, SC to the ferry boat taking us back to the mainland. I wanted to assimilate that memory into our home.
Winter Meets Summer
February 5, 2009

Buckets of shells live in our backyard. We use them for counting games and decoration. Odd dichotomy…snow with a conch shells.
