AN AMERICAN FAMILY (Part 1/5)

www.LifeatButtercupFarm.com is not a political blog, but this is a political week and I can’t help but to reflect on the current state of our homeland and the people who live here. I hope whether you call yourself a Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, or Independent, you can all agree that we are AMERICANS. As our country prepares for the upcoming Inauguration, I want my daughters to think about their country too.
Current State of Affairs
The Interview
First Lady Buttercup (me)—Julianna, what does it mean to be an American?
Julianna-It means you don’t cwy (cry). I think it means to be good and healfy (healthy).
First Lady Buttercup—Gaby, what does it mean to be an American?
Gaby—Ummm. It means you have freedom and choices.
This week, Buttercup Farm will spend some time learning about why people want to come to America, a bit about history and how this country works, and what we think it means to have American values.
